Meet Our Staff
Dr. Schomburg
I was born in LaCrosse, Wisconsin and have a B.S. in Zoology (1991) fron the University of Wisconsin, Madison. I received my DVM degree from WI also in 1995. GO BADGERS!
I practiced small animal medicine in Seattle, Washington and Bozeman, Montana prior to moving to the Phoenix area. My special interests include internal medicine, dermatology, dentistry, feline medicine and senior animal care. I enjoy spending time with my husband Jeff and children Lucas and Emma. I also enjoy swimming, hiking and reading. To round out our family we have 2 dogs and 3 cats.
Dr. Shcolnik
I am mostly an Arizona native, though I've lived in five other states for short times. I graduated from ASU in 2000 with a BS in Biology. I graduated from Purdue University's School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. I completed an intense one-year internship in Los Angeles in June, 2006. Special interests include surgery, internal medicine, emergency medicine, and feline medicine.
I live with two dogs and cats who are kind of enough to allow me to reside in "their" house. In my down time, I enjoy reading, hiking, biking, watching movies, going to restaurants, and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Johnson
Although I was born in Boulder, CO, I’ve lived in Arizona most of my life. I received my Bachelor of Science at the University of Arizona in 2004 and my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University in May of 2008. It was during my time in Colorado I realized I missed Arizona and wanted to return here to practice veterinary medicine.
In my spare time I enjoy running, swimming, watching live music, travelling, and spending time with my friends and family. My 4-legged family includes my 4 year old Border Collie/Lab, Dixie, and my 8 year old Ragdoll, Tula.
Dr. Smith
I was born and raised in East Liverpool, Ohio. In 1996 I earned a BS at the University of Vermont in Animal Science and Biology with a Minor in Nutritional Science. From there I traveled to several states and worked as a veterinary technician or in the equine field until landing at Colorado State University where I earned a Master of Science in Anatomy/Physiology in 2002 and a DVM degree in 2006. I practiced in Colorado for a few years before moving to the Phoenix area with my husband - also a veterinarian - and two daughters.
I adore hiking, cycling, skiing and boating with my family. Otherwise, I can usually be found curled up knitting or with a good book.
Beth - Practice Manager
I have been a Veterinary Technician for 8 years and I became a Certified Veterinary Technician in January 2007. I have been managing hospitals since July 2005. I am currently working towards a Bachelors Degree in Biology with minors in Chemistry & Business Management. My husband and I had our first child, a girl, in March of 2008. We currently have 2 dogs, 2 cats a lovebird and 3 Leopard Tortoises.

I was born in Castroville, CA and now live in Buckeye near my 9 aunts and uncles and 47 cousins. I have had a vast array of pets from tortoises, iguanas, guinea pigs, parrots, cats & dogs.
Technicians
Joanna - Veterinary Technician
I was born in California but I have lived here for the last 13 years. I have always loved dogs and other animals and that is why I work in this field.
Jené - Veterinary Technician
I was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago. I moved here about 4 years ago. My husband and have a young daughter. We share our home with 3 dogs & 2 cats. All of our animals were rescues- and we would not trade them for the world.
Benicia - Veterinary Technician
I have been working at Goodyear Animal Hospital since December 2005. I live in Phoenix with my boyfriend and the 3 coolest dogs ever. Mika is a 4 year old Pitbull Mix. Yoshimi is a 2 year old Llasa Apso. Last by not least, Boogie our 5 month old Beagle/Basset Hound mix. I enjoy my job and what I do. I love the people that I work with, they are like my family. Animals have always been a part of my life and will continue to be as long as I live.

I was born in Los Angeles, CA. My husband and I have a new baby boy. We share our home with a 3 year old miniature poodle named Sisi and a 19 year old cat named Susy.

I grew up in Waukegan, IL and moved to AZ in 2001. My husband and I share our home with four cats: Chloe, Mason, Garfield and Winslow. I have recently published two Southwest fine-art photography books. I love to spend my spare time outdoors. MY favorite places are Southern Utah and Northern Arizona.

Tanya - Groomer
I am originally from the Midwest (IL) but I call my home Dallas, TX. I am married with a daughter. I have 4 horses, 5 dogs and 5 cats, 2 Tortoises, 2 small parrots, fish, ducks, geese, and chickens. I have been grooming for 17 yrs and have some breed specific training (Terriers and Bichons) I am interested in show grooming.
