Dr. Amy Schomburg
I was born and raised in LaCrosse Wisconsin and graduated with a BS in Zoology (1991) and DVM (1995) from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. GO BADGERS!
I practiced small animal medicine in Seattle Washington and Bozeman Montana prior to moving to the Phoenix area where I helped open Goodyear Animal Hospital in August 2004. We have since grown into a thriving 9 doctor practice that has experience in all facets of small animal medicine and surgery. My special interests include internal medicine, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, dentistry, feline medicine and senior animal care.
My family (husband and 2 kids) is active in swimming and art. I love to read, run with Pumpkin, hang out with my kids and cheer them on during their activities. To round out our family, we have 3 dogs (Doodles, Jake & Pumpkin) and 5 cats. I look forward to meeting you and your family!

I have lived in Arizona essentially my entire life. I grew up in Pinetop, Arizona a small town in the White Mountains. I received my Bachelor of Science from the University of Arizona (Bear Down!). I completed veterinary school at Ross University on the island of St. Kitts, and my clinical year at Texas A&M (Gig’em Aggies!). After completing my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree I made my journey back home to beautiful Arizona. My professional interests include radiology and ultrasound.
In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, swimming, spending time with my niece, traveling, and adventures with the newest addition to my life my dog, Kiara!

I was and raised in Peoria, Arizona – in fact, I am a member of one of Arizona’s Founding Families – my ancestors moved West before Arizona was a recognized state. I started working as a Kennel Tech in high school, and shadowed a number of vets during my time in college to learn as I worked.
I did my undergraduate degree at University of Arizona, graduating in 2013. I attended Veterinary school at Oklahoma State, graduating as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. My areas of specific interest are Dentistry and Chiropractic for animals.
My husband and I have two horses, Mandy and Splash, and two dogs, Pixie and Roux. My hobbies are horses, horses, horses! I regularly compete in the three-day events, which are the triathlons of the equine world. They’re challenging and lots of fun. As a new member of the AZPetVet family, I’m looking forward to getting to know our pet patients. See you at Goodyear!

I’m a typical hockey loving Canadian hailing from a small town near Toronto, Ontario. Go Leafs! I worked as a Vet Tech at a clinic before going to Veterinary school at Ross University. I did my clinical year at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Today, I’m a part of the AZPetVet family in sunny Arizona, which is definitely a change from the cooler climate of Canada! My particular areas of interest working with companion animals include preventive medicine, surgery, and dentistry.
I live with my husband and our two dogs, Zeke and Summer. Summer is a German Shepherd, and Zeke is a rescue from the island of St. Kitts and Nevis. They definitely keep us active! We enjoy hiking and exploring all the beauty Arizona has to offer - we’re always finding new fa-vorite spots on our journeys. I also love to go horseback riding - specifically dressage - as well as playing sports like Ultimate Frisbee and softball. I’m excited to join the team, and I’m looking forward to meeting you and your furry family very soon!

I was raised in two very small towns in California and Nevada, moving between my family’s cattle ranches every six months until I moved away for college. I attended the University of Nevada Reno where I received a B.S. in Animal Science, followed by attending Washington State University for veterinary school.
Following veterinary school, I was able to complete two rotational year-long internships in equine medicine; the first in Bonsall, California, and the second at Kansas State University. My interests include soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, and pain management.
Currently, I don’t have any animals here in Phoenix, but I do have a horse, Apache, who is enjoying his best life back in Nevada/California with the rest of the family herd. Outside of work I enjoy hitting the gym, practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, traveling with my wife, fishing, and helping with ranch work when I can get back home.

I grew up in Providence, RI and although AZ is my new home, the Ocean State will always have my heart. I received my B.S. in Biology (2015) and Master’s in Public Affairs (2018) from Merrimack College (Go Warriors!) in North Andover, MA. I recently graduated with my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Midwestern University here in Glendale, AZ.
My love for this field was solidified at 16 when I began volunteering at a local shelter. I continued to work as a technician at a few veterinary hospitals
throughout undergrad, graduate school, and veterinary school. My professional interests include ultrasound, surgery, dermatology, and exotics.
In my free time, I like to go hiking all around this beautiful state, read crime and mystery novels, cook, and watch sports – baseball, soccer, and hockey. I have 3 family dogs back in RI that I miss a lot, but my mom sends me pictures of them all the time. I don’t have any pets here just yet, but I plan on adopting one in the near future. As a new member of the AZPetVet Family, I am excited to provide the upmost care for your pets and create a strong and lasting relationship with you!
